The spring semester is starting to wind down on college campuses, but peta2’s campus outreach crew has been as busy as ever, reaching tens of thousands of students with the message of animal rights and winning additional vegan options at stops across the country. Now, to bring you a quick update from the road, here’s Shannon, peta2’s campus outreach coordinator This past month has been a whirlwind, taking us across the country and back, with campus stops at the University of Miami, the University of Georgia, Kent State University, the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Montana, the University of Kansas, Ithaca College, American University, and many more action-packed schools. Already this season, more than 30,000 college students have signed a peta2 petition in support of vegan options and walked away with a free DVD and booklet about factory farming.
As if that weren’t enough, we’ll be making the trip to New Jersey for this year’s Bamboozle Festival. So let’s recap: We get to eat delicious vegan food, see both the Rocky Mountains and South Beach in the same month, and rock out to animal-friendly bands like Bayside, Anti-Flag, We Came As Romans, and blink-182. Did someone say dream job? - Shannon
